All Star Artist's Week - DISCOUNT and GIVEAWAY: Dodeline Design

Name:  Sarah Early

Business:  Dodeline Design

Web:  http://www.stationerybydodeline.com
http://www.etsy.com/shop/dodelinedesign

What do you love about your work?  I love the ability to be creative.  I have always been the kind of person who has a million ideas and projects going on, and working for myself as a stationery designer gives me that flexibility to always be trying new things.

What’s the best gift you have ever been given?  A trip to Paris.  Need I say more?

What do you do to make your customers feel special?  I always reach out to say thank you and include notes with my customers’ purchases.  I’m a very friendly and warm person, so I sincerely hope that comes through to my customers.  I also ship same day or next day so they don’t have to wait too long!

What are you working on to make your work stand out this holiday season (feel free to add pics of new items here)?

I have released my first calendar design this year.  Last year at this time I was an Etsy newbie and floundering to figure out this crazy community, so this year I’m much better prepared J  I have come out with personalized gift sets and lots of what I hope are unique designs for holiday card giving.

What do you want people to know about you and/or your work?

I want people to know how passionate I am about what I do, and that I am so thankful everyday that I get to do what I love to do and that other people appreciate it.  I put a little piece of myself into everything I do, so when I hand it off to a customer, I’m hopeful that we are building a long-term relationship together.  For that reason, I love to do custom pieces or quantities.

*Bonus Question*: What’s your favorite thing about the holidays?

Christmas morning.  I’m a real little kid about it.  My dad seriously got up and made a fire and set the video camera up at 7AM every Christmas until I was 22, and would wake me up and say “Sarah, Santa came.”  I’m now moved out and starting my own Christmas morning traditions with my high school sweetheart.  It’s just the happiest most magical morning of the year, not because of the presents, but because we’re all there [and behaving] and it’s just special.  And yes, I’m a total sap for the holidays.

Discount Offered: 15% for Z&R readers (in her Etsy Shop)

Discount Code: ZIPANDRUTH

Giveaway Item(s): 4 pack of Arabesque Notecards (like these >>>>>>>>)

To win the Giveaway: Head over to Sarah's Etsy shop. Come back and tell us (in the comments section) which one of her photographs would make a great gift for someone in your life, and why. Make it good, we judge on how fab your story is. We are looking to lift spirits people...bring on the happy holiday-ness!

I would like the Personalized Monogrammed flat stationery note pads.

For the first time our family is scattered for christmas. My husband, son and eldest daughter in one country and my daughter and myself in another. Not a nice feeling at all and I want this to cheer myself up. I just cannot get into the spirit of the season and time is catching up. I dont want to be a wet blanket for this season.

I would love the delicious dish vintage inspired recipe cards for my mum! She is forever surfing Epicurious.com and recipes.com in search of new and fun recipes to tweak and she keeps losing all the bits of paper that she scribbles her cooking notes on.

The It Will Be Okay card would be great for my uncle, who just had a very difficult surgery and stay in the hospital. It would mean a lot to him because he's always been the one in the family (lots of siblings) to hold things together.
